I chose to depict La Llorona, a tormented spirit who roams rivers and lakes, wailing for her lost children whom drowned. Inspired by vintage movie posters, I infused the copywriting with dramatic flair. My focus was on portraying the chilling visage of La Llorona, particularly the terror in her crying face by employing a highly graphic illustration style. I chose to make it a linoleum print by carving it.
